Impeachment in the House and other news

Posted on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 5:10 AM
Dennis Kucinich led the patriotic effort to impeach Dick Cheney in the US House of Representatives by requesting a floor vote on House Resolution 333.

If ever you need a real reason why Ralph Nadir attracted so many progressive and liberal supporters, just pay attention to the next part...

Nancy Palosi (nowhere near being a credit to her gender) attempted to defend her big daddy Dick and had help from Stinky Steny Hoyer. Hoyer pushed to have H. R. 333 fired back to the Judiciary committee in an attempt to stone-wall House debate on it and succeeded. Do the math: 165 Republicans and a mere 85 Democrats voted with Kucinich to get the debate to impeach Cheney rolling in the House.

Why are so many House Republicans backing Kucinich while House Democrats are backing Cheney, and Bush regime lies and other crimes? For the same reason why most Democrats in Congress are lame ducks. Most "Democrats" in the House and Senate are referred to these days as Bush Democrats. They're what we call "Republican-lite," and "Republic - rats." (Click here to learn how to replace them.)

I think, more voters affiliated with the Democratic Party are getting fed up with these Bush Democrats. As a result, according to Bob Fertik, a [Democratic Donor strike has begun (Psst! Sign the petition). Fertik wrote:

We will therefore begin a donor strike against the official fundraising committees for
Senate Democrats (DSCC) and House Democrats (DCCC) until our core demands are met.
We will instead contribute only to individual candidates who firmly support the values of the Democratic
Party and the American people, as certified by BlueAmerica and Progressive Challenge 2008.

Kucinich recently defied efforts by corporate media to discredit him to his own party and to progressives that are not affiliated with the Democratic Party. Last Tuesday's pulse poll results at Democracy for America indicate that Kucinich is favored over the other candidates. Is that indicative of a progressive majority, or are more Democratic voters finding their way out of the fog?

I didnt mean to do that

Somehow, I managed to delete all the comments to my posts. All I can think of is that I managed to jump from the tracking page where I deleted all the tracking alerts to posts where I had commented at other blogs, to the page where my comments alerts were listed.

I did not mean to do that. I could blame early warning signs of Mercury going retrograde as the cause. I won't. Fact is, I'm still fumbling around here, getting used to the different set up for things like those alerts.

So, if your comment was deleted, please don't take it personally.

Kucinich Accepts Cobert's Challenge

Posted on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 1:17 AM
What is in Dennis Kucinich's pockets? Comedy Central's Stephen Cobert recently inquired. Kucinich replied by agreeing to empty his pockets on the set of the Cobert Report.

Kucinich, whom the corporate "news" media ignores for his refusal to sell out to corporate sponsors, as the other Democratic candidates have typically done, will appear on the Cobert Report on Comedy Central on Tuesday night (October 16th) at 8:30PM Eastern time. Kucinich has accepted Stephen Cobert's challenge to empty his pockets on air.

Don't expect Kucinich to pull out a date book full of appointments with profit-motivated health insurers, hydrogen industrialists, war contractors and other corporate welfare recipients that bribed the other candidates in both major parties (except, maybe, Ron Paul). Don't expect to find scheduled dates with the Skull & Bones, Mendocino, California's Bohemian Grove "country club", or the Bilderberg Group, because Kucinich does not serve the special interests of these elite societies, unlike most other candidates in both parties, (except, maybe, Ron Paul).

For MS Windows Users on Dial-up

Posted on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 2:32 AM
Shortly before the efx2 community was thrust into the throes of change one member shared a You Tube file that taxed the patience of us dial-up users. Some of us were disappointed.

I've been in the habit of turning off the sound and letting the You Tube file load, always on a different page via a tab opened for that purpose. I either left the computer to find something else to do, or first opened a page that provided a lot of reading material for me to kill some time while I waited. I guess, we all have our methods.

I found something better. After download, installing and testing this gizmo, I've decided to tell all my dial-up friends, acquaintances and mysterious blog lurkers about this. Surely, some of you are familiar with this program, especially if you found the link to it in the add-ons section of the Mozilla Firefox website.

It's called the Free Download Manager. If you scroll down on the page this link takes you to then you'll find instructions on how to use this program to download flash videos from You Tube, My Space and a number of other sites. This program has a lot of cool features. However, it's limited to MS Windows users (9x/ME/2000/2003/XP/Vista *32bit versions only*).

My Content is Restored! Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I haven't been online in well over 24 hours.  I expected it to take longer for Keith to restore my content.

Keith is a zippy young man.

I feel like hugging him and feeding him a bunch of freshly baked cookies.

Chica Rocks!

Posted on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 8:47 AM
Thanks to Chica  I have the fluid, 3-column template design which I prefer to use.  Now, I feel a little more motivated to customize my blog.

I'll still have to wait for my old content.  It's my own damned fault.  I had assumed that Keith copied our submissions to get our old content returned before efx2 switched to Blog Hoster.  Plus, I missed his recent post with the message to submit content-restore requests and whatever info he needed to return it to the appropriate owners.  So, I'm among the last to receive.

I'll be keeping busy while I wait.

Still Missing from EFX2

Posted on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 7:50 AM
I've haven't seen any signs of some members of the old efx2.com community.  OneDay, Reader,  Ogre_Jehosephatt, and Bronze Trinity, as well as, LetsGoThere.  One of them, as I recall it was Reader, went on vacation to Paris.  She might not know what happened to efx2.com and  that the community is  slowly coming back together.

I didn't mention Rhomethyrst in that list.  He found me at my first blog,  Lift The Veil   He created a blog at wordpress, here .

I did see deadonthesofa's presence, but that was before the switch from the limitation of WPMU, to Blog Hoster.  I hope, she goes ahead and re-registers.

Who else is missing?

Back Again

Posted on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 2:19 AM
I'm back again.  I know, there were some problems because I had first visited Keith's blog to see if I needed to log in again and to look for any other information I might not want to miss. It looks like he resolved the log-in issue.  I'm glad of that.

I'll have to go back there to copy the information Eclectablog added concerning code.

There were  a lot of people ahead of me when I added my name to the list of members requesting our old content. I know, Keith has a lot on his priorities list right now. What with family, job, recreating the efx2 community, problem-solving and returning our content,  if he's feeling overwhelmed and under pressure, then I understand.

I believe, I will feel a lot more at home after Keith gets the time to start customizing things around here, especially ones to our benefit. I really don't think that it will take very long before we see progress. From what he's shown me so far, there is only one time when it took him longer than he thought.  Lately, he has been coming through for us sooner than some of us anticipated.

Thanks to everybody that contributed to the latest change.  Namely Periodically Demented and Chica for their initial involvement.  Also, thanks to Periodically Demented, the one that contributed the greatest sum of $,  for the thoughtful remarks he made on behalf of those of us unable to afford to contribute and feeling terrible for it.

I met a lot of awesome people at modblog, some whose blogs I'd read in "stealth" mode (not logged into my account at the time of my visits) and followed many of them to efx2. The quality of character many of these individuals have exhibited in the past was enough for me to want to keep in touch with them, as well as, several that came after I joined efx2.  One of my greatest concerns was that I'd lose touch with them when I realized that modblog was on its death bed and again when I learned what had happened to efx2.com,  to all our blogs and our community forum.

I am positively delighted to see a lot of familiar names around here.

Plus, I'm slap-happy to see that I can justify my text again!

Victory for Political Bloggers

Posted on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 12:45 AM
The FEC presented a victory for political bloggers in its recent decision to exempt online entities, including bloggers, from being forced to conform to its finance regulations rules for political campaigns. Among the exempted are individuals and groups that use blogs, websites and bulletin boards to voluntarily campaign for specific national candidates and political parties.

Although, I do advocate certain types of campaign reforms, I do not support any efforts to discourage private citizens from publicizing political views and information, or to publicly campaign for candidates of their choice.

Here's an interesting version of that report by the Associated Press as it appeared at yahoonews:

FEC Won't Regulate Political Blogging
Tue Sep 4, 8:28 PM ET

WASHINGTON - DailyKos, an influential political Web site that serves as a virtual bulletin board for liberals, qualifies as a media entity exempt from federal campaign finance regulations, the Federal Election Commission said Tuesday.

The FEC said the Web site, operated by blogger Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, cannot be regulated as a political committee and can freely post blog entries that support candidates.

Conservative blogger John C.A. Bambenek had argued in a complaint last month that the site should comply with campaign finance laws because such entries amounted to "a gift of free advertising and candidate media services."

The FEC disagreed.

"While the complaint asserts that DailyKos advocates for the election of Democrats for federal office, the commission has repeatedly stated that an entity that would otherwise qualify for the media exemption does not lose its eligibility because it features news or commentary lacking objectivity or expressly advocates in its editorial the election or defeat of a federal candidate," the FEC said.

The commission also rejected a complaint by Rep. Mary Bono, R-Calif., alleging that her 2006 Democratic opponent, David Roth, coordinated efforts with a blogger to advocate her defeat in the November 2006 general election. Bono won.

The FEC said the blogger, Michael L. Grace, acted in the capacity of a volunteer and his blogging efforts did not constitute an "in-kind service" subject to financial disclosure rules.

Gonzales Resigned

Posted on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 2:50 AM
Alberto Gonzales resigned from his position as US Attorney General today. His rise up the US government ladder was made possible by his extreme loyalty and his service to the Bush regime's most powerful members, as well as, to its front man - G. W. Bush. His resignation came close to Karl Rove's intended last day in the White House.

In George W. Bush's statement concerning Gonzales' resignation, he described Alberto Gonzales as having "Integrity, decency, and principle." What he should have said was, "Alberto Gonzales was loyal to the regime where I am the figure-head."

Alberto Gonzales has done much to prove that his loyal service to George W. Bush was more important to him than important laws and our reasons for those laws, especially ones regarding decency, integrity and ethical principles.

David Espo (Associated Press Special Correspondent) pointed out in this report at yahoo news:

"...Gonzales signed on with Bush in the mid 1990s. He served as general counsel and secretary of state when his patron [George W. Bush] was governor of Texas, then won an appointment to the state Supreme Court.

"As counsel, Gonzales helped get Bush excused from jury duty in 1996, which kept him from having to disclose a drunken driving arrest in Maine in 1976. The episode became public in the final days of the 2000 presidential campaign."

Gonzales authored the 2002 memo intended to inform Bush, Cheney, Rove and Rumsfeld how they could get around US and international anti-torture laws. After Gonzales' fired off that memo, orders were passed down through the US military, private militant contractors (former military and intelligence professionals) and the CIA to torture captives, who were mostly of Arab ancestry. This led to international outcries and growth in anti-American sentiments, mostly directed at US troops, the CIA and the US government after evidence circulated on the Internet, and through standard media sources, where members of the US military and active and retired CIA operatives committed acts of torture, some of which included sexual offenses committed against men, women and youths that, by US legal standards, would be considered juveniles.

George Bush claimed that Gonzales' name was dragged in the mud for political reasons. He spoke as if he is oblivious to the political reasons behind the hit list for the federal prosecutors that were considered to lack enough political loyalty to the Bush regime to keep their jobs.

Congressional Democrats sounded false alarms when they called for Gonzales to face perjury charges. Despite Gonzales' own contradictions during the congressional inquiries and hearings regarding the politically-motivated firing of several federal prosecutors, and regardless of other evidence which implicates Gonzales' involvement in the unethical practice, Democrats don't appear to pursue charging Gonzales with perjury.

Gonzales remained loyal to a regime and political party that has proven its might in the dirty art of political smear campaigns. He has done nothing to publicly denounce the lies, exaggerated versions of facts and twisting of words that have been used to discredit all high-profile whistle-blowers and critics of the Bush regime and/or its members and corrupt and immoral policies.

George W. Bush, Alberto Gonzales, and the rest of that gang, as well as, most members of Bush's present and former supporters have proven themselves to maintain perverted impressions of the meaning of decency, morality, integrity and principles. Pity, this Congress lacks the backbone and perseverance to teach these thugs what those words really mean.

Some congressional Democrats warned that Gonzales' resignation didn't automatically get him off the hook with his involvement in the politically motivated firing of several prosecutors. This coming from politicians that seldom back up their words with complete results.

Alberto Gonzales might soon receive news of a consolation prize for taking the heat, as well as, a bonus reward for his loyalty after so-called journalists get bored and lose interest in him. If he stands before the Grand Jury and is convicted of perjury (at least), he can count on George W. Bush to wash away the punishment the way Bush did following I. Lewis Libby's conviction.

Let's hope, the Bush regime doesn't replace Alberto Gonzales with another loyalist known to lak integrity, decency and principle.

Bilderberg Pushes American Superstate

GLOBALISTS TRASH BORDERS

Bilderberg Pushes American Superstate

By James P. Tucker Jr.
American Free Press

Leaders of Bilderberg have gathered the appropriate flunkies at the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello, about 50 miles outside Quebec, to accomplish a North American Union without congressional action.

Bilderberg met at the same site in 1983. The Aug. 20-21 session of the unknown Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) is struggling to define its goal of a borderless union of the United States, Mexico and Canada as something Americans will welcome, after it has been accomplished.

On the agenda is a report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), which is being translated into Spanish and French so all three governments can celebrate it together. The report explains how “hemispheric integration” will be a blessing for all and not a surrender of sovereignty. It is to be presented to the three governments in September.

The trustees of CSIS who are attending this closed meeting include Henry Kissinger, Bilderberg and Trilateral; Zbigniew Brzezinski, Trilateral; and Harold Brown, former defense secretary and Trilateral. Also participating is Richard Armitage, Bilderberg. Other Bilderberg-Trilateralists may be attending but have not been identified.

The “North American Future 2025 Project” report stresses “economic integration” and “labor mobility.” It calls for the “international migration of labor” and “international movement not only of goods and capital, but also of people.” It stresses the “free flow of people across national borders.” It calls for action to “integrate governments.” The three nations are to work on “harmonizing legislation” and regulations.

Bilderberg is fighting back from severe setbacks in its long-range goal of dividing the world into three great regions for the administrative convenience of a world government under the United Nations. The European Union was to have been fully integrated into a single state by 2000, but seven years later, there is strong resistance in France, Germany and Britain.

NAFTA was to quickly expand throughout the Western Hemisphere with an “American Union” emerging. Now, there is great resistance to NAFTA itself among voters and, consequently, congressmen.

President Bush started the country on the road to integration on April 22, 2001, when he signed the Declaration of Quebec City in which he made a “commitment to hemispheric integration.” Participants claim it can be accomplished without legislation and their final agreement would not be a “treaty” requiring Senate ratification.

But when this “agreement” is sprung on the American people, Congress will feel compelled to react to the outrage.

Aaron Russo Passed Away

Posted on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at 4:04 AM
I just learned that Aaron Russo, producer of America: Freedom to Fascism, passed away on Friday. He succumbed to his battle with cancer. In Prison Planet's announcement of his death he was described as a modern-day Samuel Adams, a revolutionary rebel-rousing and freedom-loving American.

From the aforementioned documentary, the activist group Restore the Republic was founded. Today, the homepage for Restore the Republic honors Russo with a picture of him, his birth and death dates (February 14, 1943 - August 24, 2007), and the following words:
You changed America with your presence, you have awoken millions to the truth, we will finish the game.

Indeed, he has been awakening many minds in this country. Russo's America: Freedom to Fascism has influenced a growing number of liberals, progressives, libertarians, and some conservatives.

Aaron Russo ran for president on the Libertarian Party ticket for the 2004 race. The campaign website displayed Russo's position on key issues concerning the US, as reflected by the following objectives that appear at the America: Freedom to Fascism website:

* Stop the polarization of America
* Stop the domination of the Democratic and Republican parties over our political system
* Shut down the Federal Reserve system
* Return America's gold to Fort Knox and have it audited
* Have Congress and the IRS, in a public forum, reveal the law that requires Americans to pay a direct, unapportioned tax on their labor.
* Make computerized voting illegal in all 50 states
* Keep the internet free and out of the control of large institutions
* Rescind the law called the Real ID Act so Americans never have to carry a National ID Card
* Make it illegal to implant RFID chips in human beings
* Educate juries to the fact that they have the right to determine the law as well as the facts of a case
* Educate juries to the fact that they are not obligated to follow the instructions of a judge
* Stop Globalization because it is the path to a one world government
* Protect our borders
* Restore the environment
* Put an end to the Patriot Act
* Sign up millions of Americans so we can accomplish our objectives

Surely, his spirit will be with us as our revolution continues.

I'll Vote My Conscience

Posted on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 5:59 AM
Most likely, the nominees for the presidential race between Republicans and Democrats will be affiliated and in loyal service to one, or more of the following elitist societies:

Bilderberg,
The Secret Order of the Skull & Bones,
Bohemian Grove (and other "Grove" clubs),
The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

If a member of one of those groups gets nominated, I will not vote for them. If I must, I'll write in my preferred candidate's name.

I'll vote my conscience. I'm not a member of any political party. As a Texas voter, I can vote in any primary election. (Only one primary per election.)

I will not vote for the presumed "lesser evil." I will not make my decision based upon shallow considerations. My vote will not be determined by a candidate's physical traits. I leave that to shallow and simple-minded fools.

I'm not a gullible follower. I've learned my lesson about letting idiots lead me when I was a young fool. If this means that most American voters are idiots, then I sure as hell won't accept their choice of political candidates.

I won't vote for anybody that supports and advocates US global trade policies that have hurt people, pets, and the environment. I will not be adversely influenced by lip service from candidates that supported these things in the past, yet now call for reforming those policies.

I won't vote for anybody that is being paid off by corporate and other self-serving special interest groups and individuals. I don't trust those candidates. If they cannot qualify for the federal funds because they accept money from such special interest groups, then they won't qualify for my voter support in the popularity contest we loosely call an election.

If their candidate loses in November 2008, their voter-supporters can piss and moan while pointing fingers all they want. I won't feel guilty for voting my conscience. I'd be an idiot to let fools tell me what choices I ought to make. If that hurts their pathetic feelings, then they set themselves up for disappointment.

It's not a matter of how well a candidate does in the polls. I have never decided on which team, or candidate to support based upon their chances for winning. It's not like placing bets at a poker table.

In the end, whoever rigs the ballots by hacking into electronic ones with insecure software and the E.C. will determine the presidential election outcome. Most voters in both political parties don't mind if their votes are canceled that way. So, any bitching from sore losers about those of us that voted our conscience, instead of voting against our best interests by supporting candidates that are political whores shouldn't be taken seriously, anyway.

Shrinks Debate Whether, or Not to Torture for US Gov't and Military

Posted on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 10:13 AM
Could you trust a medical psychiatric professional that participated in the torture of captives as a means of breaking their spirit to coerce them to bend at their captor's will in every way, shape, or form?

Psychiatric professionals debated whether, or not it is ethical to participate in government and military torture activities of their prisoners. Read on.

How Ya Gonna Act?

Posted on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 6:22 AM
Signs that the remnant of American civil liberties will be nothing more than a memory:

1. Federal ID plan would require visitors to US National Parks to present a passport if they live in states defying the federal Real ID Act. I can see where this one can be taken to extremes.

2. Prepare for possible economic collapse and Martial Law. Supply yourself with necessities, including duct tape to use on any clergy members that agreed with fascists in Washington D.C> to go around telling people, "God wants you to obey the government."

3.FEMA rules changed. It's the down-side of too much state dependency on Big Brother Fed when Big Brother Fed takes away aid, which could result in chaos that Big Brother Fed will say, "warrants Martial Law, Military policing on US soil, and public disarmament." It was already tested in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Pentagon Devising Scenarios for Martial Law - mentions nuclear attack, bio-warfare, which could mostly likely be issued by maniacs in the US government, against states with strong populations of dissenters (a.k.a., "political enemies.")

4.Some Californians rushed to rescue their Federal Reserve Notes (commonly known as "US dollars") from Countrywide Bank after learning that Countrywide might be headed for bankruptcy...Reminds me of the meltdown that sucked the USA into the Great Depression.

5. A group of neo-Nazi-cons, using an umbrella "organization" Demands that G. W. Bush be made "president" for life. The group also calls for genocide of all Iraqis and of Bush's political enemies in the USA, and for the Bush regime to make the entire world its empire. This group is closely connected to Dick Cheney and Richard Perle.

6. The Democratic Party controlled Congress granted greater domestic spying privileges for the government, placing control of military spy technology, such as, satellites, into political hands. Under new laws in this bill(improperly called "The Protect America Act," which is actually intended to destroy what's left of the American Way) the government has Six Months to turn Internet and phone systems into permanent spying architecture.

The new spying powers granted to the most powerful political figures in the US government also include political access to military-controlled spy satellites. Full capabilities of the satellite lenses and associated technology remains classified. What's been divulged so far is that these spy devices can cut through cloud layers and can detect human body heat within buildings. Radio-controlled flying drones (which the Military and CIA have been using for several years), fixed cameras on buildings, posts, towers and at traffic lights, and manned eavesdropping equipment can compensate for spy satellite shortcomings.

To everything is its opposite...

There's an expression used in some parts of the Southeast. It's posed in the form of a question:
How ya gonna act?

Olberman on Fox,CIA and FBI Hacking Wikipedia

Posted on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 5:46 AM
Surely, by now you have learned that sources from Fox propaganda channel, the CIA, and the FBI have been editing Wikipedia entries to insert their propaganda and do away with content they didn't like and that a suspected CIA agent infiltrated the Wikipedia editorial board to ensure that disinformation and omission of facts met Agency and Bush regime standards.

Keith Olberman did an interesting segment on this subject:

I'm not entirely outraged after reading an article on this topic by Bobby Johnson (of the London Guardian - Original Source, also available here). I found one paragraph rather amusing:

...And somebody from a computer traced to Democrat HQ edited a page on conservative American radio host Rush Limbaugh, calling him "idiotic", "ridiculous" and labelling his 20 million listeners as "legally retarded".

If you're interested in finding out what Wikipedia pages were edited by sources at which recognizable IP addresses check out the Wikiscanner. (Thanks for the link, Cryptome.) I, for one, am growing addicted to that resource.

Rove Resigning

Posted on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 5:58 AM
Karl Rove announced that he is resigning at the end of this month. Like former CIA director, George Tenet, Rove said that his decision to quit his job was "for the sake of my family."

Is Karl Rove about to make a run for exile?

Karl Rove's final days at the White House come at a time when the Senate is on hiatus. That gives him time to pack his shit, say his farewells and get the hell out of Washington D.C. while the US Senate puts on hold hearings on the Bush regime's Nazi-style campaign to fire federal prosecutors for failing to be loyal, or loyal enough to the regime and its agenda.

Last week, Robert Novak appeared on C-SPAN where he told numerous young adults that Karl Rove was the White House insider responsible for leaking Valarie Plame's identity as a CIA NOC. This might be another reason for Rove to run and hide.

Rove's announcement shortly follows the circulation of a recently discovered 1994 video that Rove, Cheney and the other PNAC neo-cons don't want us to see:

Circling Trade and Economic Warfare Tactics

Posted on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 4:36 AM
Non-combat forms of warfare are typically employed to pacify the masses, or small groups of dissenters and rebels. Economic and trade manipulations have been popularly used throughout imperial history.

King George III relied on non-combat tactics before 1775 in his attempts to crush the slowly growing American dissension among the Sons of Liberty and their supporters. Then again, the Sons of Liberty also relied on non-violent battles in response to unpopular taxation of the American Colonies, and to thwart his efforts to pacify and silence them.

Publicly speaking out against the king and his laws and decisions was illegal. Thus, publishing anything of the kind was also prohibited, by law.

Holding public assemblies to criticize the kind, his laws and decisions were illegal.

Petitioning the king with requests, then demands, then ultimatums, such as, "No taxation without representation in government," was an act of rebellion and an offense to the king. Therefore, such petitioning was in violation of the king's laws. So too were the nomination of a representative and post master general (Benjamin Franklin).

Therefore, the Sons of Liberty committed victimless crimes against King George III, his throne, and the British Empire.

Despite inaccurate notions, neither side wanted bloody war. Each side tried to avoid it. They each had their own reasons for seeking alternatives. Thus, contrary to notions that are popular among those resentful of the American side of the revolution, the actual bloodshed did not begin until several years after the rebellion started.

The Sons of Liberty petitioned the king and key figures within British Parliament. They nominated Benjamin Franklin as their post master and their spokesman in London. They clearly exhibited an earnest effort to convince the king to either officially withdraw his decision to tax the American colonies, or to agree to accept American representation in British Parliament.

King George III employed some classic economic and trade warfare strategies. He intended to use them the way the US and UN often uses economic and trade sanctions against countries with known, or alleged "rogue" leaders to stimulate public resentment against the leaders, possible citizen rebellion, and support for outside "help" to overthrow the existing government and military. Except, King George III was the government, as was every British crown royal that believed any part of America he desired and his forces conquered was property of the British Empire. He would not have been the only one to use economic and trade warfare tactics to manipulate and pacify people, considered to be subjects beneath his throne.

The most influential Sons of Liberty were very resourceful men. Born to wealthy families, many of them aristocratic, their parents could afford them quality education. Social status also awarded some of them entry to elite universities. Their knowledge helped to prepare them for the king's bloodless warfare tactics. Their other resources enabled them to counter those tactics.

Resources, like ties to smugglers that competed with trade interests either ruled by, or approved by King George III. John Hancock was involved in the prohibited dealings with smugglers and merchants that were willing to sell their contraband. This proved helpful after King George III employed a number of trade and economic manipulations.

The king tried price gouging of British controlled imports. He ordered trade embargoes against the American Colonies to pressure the colonial American majority to turn against the Sons of Liberty and pressure them to end their rebel-rousing and other unlawful activities.

The smugglers and their American accomplices took advantage of these measures. Whereby, they rendered the king's tactics useless, yet profitable to everyone that had invested in the contraband.

The king attempted to get rid of his competition. First, he deployed patrol vessels to keep ships with smuggled goods away from American wharfs, especially at the shores of New York and Massachusetts where most Sons of Liberty were known to reside and operate. This plan backfired, too.

At least, one patrol ship captain and crew took advantage of the authority King George invested in them to board any and all ships entering and leaving the American ports. Rather than confiscate only suspected, or known contraband, they also stole emperor-approved cargo and personal possessions from travelers. Rumors abound that some Sons of Liberty had been the arsonists that burned the culprit's patrol ship to the watery surface. (The captain and his entire crew survived. Evidently, they all knew how to swim.) The king recalled his patrol boats. He didn't want the rest of them to burn.

King George also declared that no passengers were allowed entry to any American colony if they were from countries where common people were known for production skills, such as, weapons manufacturing, furniture making, and so forth. The king and his advisers assumed that the English colonial Americans lacked skills, talent, and the ingenuity to invent ways to get around the king's efforts to render the Americans defenseless and wanting.

The king thought he had come up with the mother of all anti-smuggler tactics with his next economic and trade warfare tactic. Since the American Colonies were heavily populated with English people and their American-born offspring, and because his effort to raise the price of tea flopped, since smugglers offered it at a reduced rate, he radically dropped the price of tea so low, the smugglers would not afford to compete by undercutting his price.

The Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty discovered when the British ship (a brand new one) would arrive at Boston Harbor. They convinced the ship's captain and its owner not to attempt to unload the tea at the wharf.

The ship's captain and its owner didn't want to make waves with the Sons of Liberty. Neither the captain, nor the ship's owner wanted any harm done to this ship. Yet, the captain had a deadline to meet. He could only keep the ship docked at Boston Wharf for so long before he needed to return it to London on schedule and without the cargo. He tried to appeal to the Sons of Liberty and their supporters during a Town Hall assembly.

The Sons of Liberty, with help from a Daughter of Liberty, came up with an idea. They disguised themselves in their best attempt to look like Mahican tribesmen and bordered the ship. They dumped crates of tea into Boston Harbor. The captain, ship's owner, and crew did nothing to stop them.

King George III demanded that the most influential Sons of Liberty, especially Samuel Adams, be apprehended and sent to London for a prompt and public hanging. He wanted to make an example of Adams to warn all others not to mess with the king's profits.

Sadly, that was the end of the non-violent power-play between the Sons of Liberty and King George and his men.

Ben Franklin anticipated the possibility of the friction between England and America increasing to the point where the king would declare war. Before he returned to America, he had explored the Irish countryside where he saw the ravages of extremely impoverished and oppressed Irish common folk, regrettably under British imperial rule. He did not want that fate to befall Americans.

After Franklin returned, by then a widower, he fired up the press his belated wife once operated in his absence to print an alternative to British currency. His paper money wasn't backed by anything. Not gold. Not silver. Nothing.

Ben Franklin's paper money idea was intended to help end American dependency on British currency before the king used that dependency against them. This idea was also a way to discourage Americans from continuing to feed the Empire, thus inhibiting their contribution to its war machine.

While I am on the subject of paper "money" that is not backed by any resource which holds its market value, the Federal Reserve Notes (a.k.a., US dollars) are produced by a private corporation. Each bill, no matter the printed amount, costs about four cents to produce, according to Aaron Russo's documentary America: From Freedom, To Fascism. I must add, our dependency on these Federal Reserve Notes and their publication are in violation of the US Constitution.

The Federal Reserve and its affiliated banks throughout the world have special powers and rights over people that depend on and circulate the counterfeit these and other entities use to control peoples' lives. This includes use of bank and savings accounts, loans and mortgages, ATM and credit cards. Furthermore, the Federal Reserve acts as an authority to manipulate global trade and "economic" trends, always at the expense of common people, regardless of their "station" in life.

What would Ben Franklin and John Hancock do about that if they were here now? If the Sons of Liberty, the American people, Ghandi and his people were here today, what would they do differently than what they did in their time to discourage their imperial foes from resorting to military war?

Matrix

A new efx2 member (Let'sGoThere) asked some very important questions in his response to the post - Clinton Accepts Murdoch's Bribe Money. He asked some questions, one being, "What can we do to stop" the corruptive relationship and practices of government insiders and Big Business lobbyists.

I told him, "That's a loaded question." I knew, I'd need more than one post to answer, because I look at a lot of things on more than one level, from more than one position.

If you're wanting to know what we can do to stop government corruption, then it's best to remember that no coach and football team would publicize their play book, unless they like losing. No military leaders and their troops would want to broadcast their battle plans when they're in the middle of a conflict, unless they want to die and lose the war.

Sometimes, the best way to explain anything is to direct one's attention to fiction. (No. I haven't taken leave of my senses.)

Although, fiction can be used as a form of escape through entertainment, it's been known to offer insight for creative pursuits. The latter includes creative problem-solving and technological development.

George Orwell used fiction to explain his take on world events and their potential outcomes.

Aaron Russo made own attempts to reach people through fiction, what with movies like Pump Up The Volume and Rude Awakening. Both movies were made around 1990, give or take a year, or so.

I don't know what the producers of The Matrix had in mind when they created the screenplay for that movie. Yet, the movie was the best thing I'd seen around the turn of this century. It helped me to describe "the system" to my son after we watched the DVD together.

The Matrix was a complex web of networks that feed off society. Aside from the cool packaging, weapons and battle scenes, The Matrix reveals similarities to people's concept of reality, and how few people wake up to see that things are not as they were conditioned to believe.

Often, our early and occasional observations of how government and commerce operate and the roles people play to build these systems and keep them thriving is just scratching the surface. We learn nothing of underlying layers. They and, especially, the core are mysteries until we take crack those outer layers and dive in to put everything we find beneath a microscope.

The US government and the American economy are a lot more complex than the simplistic descriptions offered by school textbooks. Maybe, we're not supposed to know that. Adversely, the complexity might be too overwhelming for most people to bother digging into the tangled webs of bureaucracy, secret societies and special laws to further empower an elite few.

Public Enemy, came out after 9/11, which seemed to "justify" all-out public surveillance and intrusion of privacy in the US and UK. Will Smith's character gets hit with one painful surprise, after another. Defense Department hotshots take advantage of security and satellite cameras and other spy technology, as well as, information databases to track down evidence of a murder that Smith's character unknowingly acquires.

The character Gene Hackman played in this movie is somebody I'd rather want as a friend and ally, than an enemy.

No matter how fantastic movie industry insiders and novelists attempt to present a story with concepts that are full of possibilities, they fall short of what can happen in real life. If nothing else, fiction can act as a springboard for better ideas.

Corporate and CIA developers know that. They've been copping off science fiction comic strips, novels and movies for decades.

I wouldn't suggest watching a movie, or reading a book, like any mentioned in this post, to emulate everything you see. Ideas are often inspired by something. What is art, but a reflection of life? Yet, life often imitates art. Through the creative process, but without abandoning logic and common-sense, abstract thought is a key element behind change.

I'd say, explore anything you can about secret societies and their role in US politics, commerce, the CIA, the media and the Federal Reserve while keeping the word "matrix" in mind. For explorers seeking the core, these pursuits will take you on a global level and through pages of documented history.

Clinton Accepts Murdoch's Bribe Money

Hillary Clinton recently accepted a campaign contribution of over $20,000 from media mogul - Rupert Murdoch.

By accepting the money from a man accustomed to having his way, Hillary has accepted the terms of his bribe.

All these years Murdoch's employees have trashed Hillary, one might wonder why Murdoch has sealed his endorsement of her campaign by adding to the coffers.

What does he want?

More restrictive laws of media consolidation to disappear?
FOX News receives government subsidies. Does Murdoch want Hillary to increase this corporate welfare provision?

It's too soon to guess which Republican presidential candidate will win the popular vote in their primary election. Murdoch will likely support the one to rival the Democratic nominee.

Unless Hillary Clinton and Rupert Murdoch secretly arranged a deal last year, where he may have promised to support her in exchange for her willingness to accept his conditions, Murdoch might be prepared to turn against her through mouth-pieces like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly.

The apparent ties between Hillary Clinton and Rupert Murdoch might also include influence from the Bilderburg Club and the Bohemian Grove Society.
